University Intern: Labour Market Analysis 60 - 100%In the interest of employees and companies, the Office for Labour (AFA) contributes to strengthening the location Zurich. The Competence Centre for Labour consolidates the labour market policy competencies within the AFA and takes on important strategic tasks, projects and services on topics of labour market policy as well as the implementation of public employment services.
As a complement to our motivated team, we are looking for a committed university intern for a fixed-term position of 12 months starting 1 September 2026 or by arrangement. Your tasks are varied and you will have the opportunity to get to know several areas of responsibility in our Competence Centre.
Your tasks
- Labour market analysis: You support our scientific team in analysing current labour market trends. You can deepen your knowledge in statistical and qualitative analyses of labour market-related questions and support the team, among other things, in their current study on the topic "Career Entry". You gain insights into inter-cantonal cooperation and support the team both in project management and in the visual and interpretative preparation of the results.
- Controlling and reporting: You further support our team in the implementation and further development of our central Management Information System. You are involved in clarifying requirements and operationalising and programming the most central key figures and KPIs of the involved specialist departments. In doing so, you support the team from procurement, preparation (ETL), plausibility checks, documentation to the visual preparation of the key figures.
Your profile
- Completed bachelor's degree in economics and social sciences or business informatics
- Great interest in qualitative and quantitative analysis of current issues in public employment services and labour market policy
- Proven programming experience (R, Python, etc.) and good user knowledge of MS Office programmes
- High openness and curiosity to apply and deepen the programming experience learned in a practice-oriented environment
- Initial experience and knowledge of databases and business intelligence tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI or MicroStrategy) advantageous
- Initiative, communicative and team-oriented personality
- Independent, systematic and precise way of working
- Good written and spoken expression in German
