Senior Specialist in Prison Leave Measures in Job Sharing, each 70%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe. With 399 places, JVA Pöschwies is the largest closed correctional facility for men in Switzerland. It fulfils a central state function and, according to legal mandate, is responsible for the resocialisation of incarcerated persons and the protection of the public.
Prison leave measures are a central step in the transition back to freedom. They enable incarcerated persons to gradually take on responsibility and to test themselves in everyday life outside the institution. In doing so, they make an important contribution to resocialisation, stabilisation and social integration.
The assessment of applications for leave and temporary releases requires a high degree of care, responsibility and judgement. For this demanding specialist role, we are looking for two experienced and socially competent individuals who will jointly take on the task in job sharing and convince with professionalism, resilience and a structured way of working.
Your tasks
- Independent assessment of applications for leave and temporary releases in the closed and open enforcement at JVA Pöschwies
- Preparation of well-founded and comprehensible statements on flight, community and recidivism risks as a basis for decisions for the Directorate and referring authorities
- Structured, precise and target-group appropriate preparation of complex matters
- Ensuring compliance with conditions and requirements of approved prison leave measures
- Close cooperation with the social services, the Directorate and external authorities within the framework of enforcement planning
- Participation in the further development of professional standards and support in training accompanying persons in the area of leave and temporary release
- Maintaining a trusting and close exchange within the job sharing team
Your profile
- Qualification at higher technical or university level, preferably in a commercial or social field
- Several years of professional experience (at least 10 years) in a demanding administrative, social or official environment
- Experience in structured handling of complex cases and in writing precise written assessments
- High degree of independence and the ability to make careful and responsible decisions even in demanding situations
- Fluent German skills in spoken and written form, additional languages are an advantage
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange with different stakeholders
- Confident use of digital tools and common office applications
- Discretion, professionalism and an impeccable reputation
