For our client, a leading global player in the pharmaceutical industry based in Kaiseraugst/Basel, we are seeking a highly motivated and assertive Construction Manager VT (Process Engineering). As part of the "Construction Site Services" circle, you will act as the vital interface between internal projects and external contractors, ensuring the seamless execution of technical installations within a highly regulated environment.
This position is designed as a long-term integration opportunity, with the intent to transition into a permanent role after 2-3 years, contingent on performance and team integration.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Site Management: Planning, leading, and organizing construction sites, including the coordination of all external contractors and site personnel.

Quality & Cost Control: Overseeing technical execution in pipeline construction and utility engineering to ensure compliance with quality standards and budget requirements.

Safety Leadership: Implementing and enforcing site safety protocols according to strict industrial standards to ensure a zero-incident environment.

Project Lifecycle Support: Providing technical input during the planning phase (materials, manufacturers) and scheduling phase (CC phase).

Commissioning & Handover: Guiding external firms through commissioning and deficiency rectification, ensuring a clean handover of finished systems to the facility operator.

Procurement Support: Obtaining and evaluating quotes/offers, reviewing specifications, and assisting in the awarding of contracts to executing companies.

Documentation: Reporting in coordination with local engineering and reviewing final revision documents/as-built drawings.

Compliance: Ensuring all work on-site and associated documentation adheres to mandatory GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements.
Qualifications:
-
Education: Completed vocational training as a Plant/Apparatus Constructor, ideally supplemented with a Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician certification.

Professional Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the project management of piping installations and utility engineering systems.

Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of GMP environments and requirements within the life sciences or chemical industry.

Technical Expertise: Strong background in process engineering (VT), piping classes, and technical standards.

Safety Certification: Knowledge of construction site and occupational safety (e.g., SiGeKo or Safety Assistant training) is highly desirable.

Language Skills: Fluent in German (written and spoken) is a must-have; English and/or French skills are considered a distinct advantage.

IT & Tools: Proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office; experience with SAP and process engineering software is preferred.

Soft Skills: A service-oriented professional with strong assertiveness, the ability to maintain clear boundaries under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
Nice to Haves:

Knowledge of fire protection, ventilation systems, or building logistics.

Familiarity with plant automation systems.

Experience with internal site documentation systems and asset management (e.g., technical locations).
