Your tasks
- Design, development and operation of scalable backend services within a microservice-oriented architecture
- Implementation of business requirements according to the principles of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Design and continuous improvement of communication and integration patterns (REST/OpenAPI, Kafka topics and schemas)
- Taking end-to-end responsibility for services according to DevOps principles („you build it, you run it“)
- Monitoring and operation of services using logging, metrics and alerting tools
- Incident analysis, troubleshooting and continuous optimisation of system performance
- Participation in architecture, technology and integration decisions across platforms
- Close collaboration with frontend developers, QA specialists and product teams in agile environments
- Conducting code reviews and ensuring compliance with best practices and quality standards
- Maintaining clear, sustainable and well-structured technical documentation
What you bring with you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field
- Several years of experience in the JVM ecosystem, especially with Java, Spring Boot, Gradle and Git
- Solid experience in designing and operating microservices-based architectures
- Experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Experience in deploying and operating applications in cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure
- In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, scalability patterns and error handling
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
- Strong sense of responsibility and initiative regarding software quality and reliability
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams
- Excellent skills in technical communication and collaboration
- Fluent German and English skills
