The Clinic for General and Visceral Surgery treats benign and malignant diseases of the digestive tract and trauma patients. The focus is on HSM procedures for rectum, pancreas, liver and obesity, as well as endocrine surgery and proctology.

Your tasks

• You support the clinic management in the strategic further development of the clinic with a wide range of tasks of a surgical A-clinic.
• You are professionally responsible for leading colorectal surgery and proctology.
• You bring special expertise in minimally invasive and robot-assisted colorectal surgery and are actively involved in the further development of this focus within our clinic.
• Together with the management team, you lead the clinic in professional, clinical and personnel matters, according to economic, appropriate and scientifically based principles.
• You ensure and promote cooperation with all internal and external partners according to strategic guidelines, as an integral part of your activity.
• You meet the requirements for highly specialised medicine including the required research activities. You master open, laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery.
• Promoting the training and further education of assistant and senior physicians in general and visceral surgery as well as interdisciplinary is a central concern for you. You meet the requirements for leading a training centre of category A.

Your profile

• You are an honest and innovative personality with high teamwork skills, resilience, social competence and the willingness to take responsibility.
• You hold the Swiss medical diploma as well as the specialist title in surgery or an equivalent, MEBEKO-recognised foreign qualification, with habilitation in the field of surgery. Additionally, you possess the specialisation title in visceral surgery.
• You have very broad professional experience in the field of general and visceral surgery and its neighbouring areas. You have sound knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system and can network well.
• You have several years of leadership experience in a university hospital or central hospital and possess qualifications in management, business administration, organisation and leadership.
• You have proven experience in minimally invasive and robotic colorectal surgery, especially in the treatment of complex colorectal and oncological diseases.
• Very good German skills and excellent communication skills complete your profile.
