What awaits you.
Take part in a unique project for a new major and strategic railway line (investment exceeding 1 billion CHF). At SBB, we continuously modernise infrastructure to ensure smooth connections, punctual trains, and welcoming stations. After completing the preliminary design, we are strengthening the team to reach a key milestone: preparing the enquiry dossier. Why will you like this position? It is a strategic and emblematic project including more than 30 km of tunnels, mostly constructed using tunnel boring machines, and the management of approximately 1.5 million m³ of materials. The project is conducted with a sustainable development approach: optimisation of recycling channels, material traceability, and minimising road transport to reduce environmental and local resident impact.
What you can influence.
- As project manager, you lead the strategy and execution of materials logistics, from extraction to recycling or disposal channels.
- Responsible for the project’s sustainability strategy and implementation, you define environmental and social objectives, monitor indicators, and coordinate various stakeholders.
- You ensure the smooth progress of your project section across all SIA phases (from planning to realisation) regarding safety, quality, deadlines, and costs, while integrating logistics into the overall construction schedule.
- You manage the entire tendering process for materials management, in accordance with LMP/OMP and internal procedures.
- You lead internal specialists and external contractors, ensuring coordination and quality of deliverables.
- On a daily basis, you drive the project to obtain various internal approvals, represent the project in committees and bodies, and develop trusted collaborations with key partners, notably the FOT, the Canton, and municipalities.
What you bring.
- Through your experience, you have developed excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit, enabling you to coordinate the project’s various internal and external stakeholders with ease.
- Your proactivity and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously set you apart.
- During long-term projects, you know how to stay on course and achieve set objectives while remaining motivated daily.
- Professionally, you bring proven experience in managing complex and multidisciplinary projects (at least 5-6 years of experience).
- Proven experience in planning materials management platforms and logistics is a major asset.
- You hold a higher technical education (FH, ETH, university) in a construction-related field, for example civil engineering.
- You master French (minimum C1 level); a good knowledge of German (from B1 level) is an advantage.
