For an established restaurant directly on the beautiful Lake Thun in the Spiez region, we are looking for an experienced and strong leadership personality as Head Chef from February 2027 or by arrangement.
The year-round open establishment delights its guests with a unique lakeside location, a spacious panoramic terrace, and a varied à la carte menu. During the summer season, numerous events, banquets, and functions add extra momentum, making the position particularly diverse and exciting.
Responsibilities
- Operational and organisational management of the kitchen together with the existing kitchen management team
- Ensuring smooth kitchen operations in the à la carte area as well as at banquets and events
- Leadership, promotion, and development of the kitchen team
- Responsibility for quality, hygiene, ordering goods, inventory management, and use of goods
- Participation in duty and holiday planning
- Co-design and further development of the culinary offer
- Optimisation of existing processes and workflows
- Close collaboration with the restaurant management and executive management
- Ensuring compliance with all quality and hygiene standards
Profile
- Completed training as a cook with a federal certificate of competence (EFZ)
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable role
- Leadership experience or evident potential for a leadership role
- Sound knowledge in the à la carte, banquet, and event sectors
- Independent, structured, and quality-oriented working style
- High resilience and organisational talent, especially in hectic times
- Entrepreneurial and economic thinking
- Team-oriented personality with natural authority and appreciative leadership style
- Willingness for flexible working hours, weekend and public holiday shifts
