The Merian Iselin Clinic is a state-of-the-art private clinic in Basel, focusing on the specialties of orthopaedics, surgery, and urology. We work closely with attending physicians and benefit from a variety of individual surgical techniques. This allows us an exciting and varied working environment.

Your main tasks

• Under guidance, you ensure the structural, interdisciplinary, and material organisation and logistics in the operating area for planned and emergency surgeries

You are responsible before and during operations for the proper handing of sterile goods as well as the handling of technical devices and equipment

• You coordinate and are responsible for all measures of hygiene, asepsis, and antisepsis in the operating area
• In collaboration with the surgeons, you prepare the instruments in a timely and anticipatory manner and work with an interdisciplinary team

Your training path

• Full-time training* structured in school block weeks and multi-week internships (40% theory, 60% practice), duration 3 years

*Part-time training possible: 80% workload during internships

• Advanced entry, recognition of previous tertiary-level health care training possible

(certified nurse HF or an equivalent qualification recognised in Switzerland)

• Comprehensive practice-oriented training by our qualified training team in a modern and familiar environment
• Theoretical part of the training at the "Higher Technical School for Health and Social Affairs HFGS" in Aarau
• Possibility to complete a two-day aptitude assessment at the Merian Iselin Clinic as part of the admission process

You bring with you

• Social competence, flexibility, sense of responsibility, psychological and physical resilience, as well as excellent communication skills

Practical and technical skills and interest in healthcare

• Completed secondary level II, completed vocational training with a federal certificate of competence (EFZ) or

technical college certificate or matriculation certificate or equivalent qualification

• Successful participation in an aptitude assessment/admission procedure
