At the inpatient ruminant clinic of the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Bern, a resident position is to be filled from May 1, 2026.
Training position with a focus on individual animal medicine (2¾ years in the inpatient ruminant clinic and the possibility of a 3-month training exchange in herd medicine). A 100% position is advertised (70% clinical service, 30% scientific work and own further education)
Tasks to be done
• Care of inpatient clinic patients, including emergency service, together with specialists and veterinary medicine students
• Preparation of a dissertation or a scientific paper, if a dissertation is already available

• Completed veterinary medicine studies
• Interest in working with ruminants and in modern livestock medicine in the Swiss agricultural environment
• Enjoyment of clinical work and herd care, as well as working with veterinary medicine students
• Strong teamwork skills and solution-oriented thinking
• Scientific interest, motivation, and thoroughness
• High resilience and perseverance
• Good oral and written German and French skills, good written English skills
Training objective
What we offer
