Internship BIM – Digital Construction

Would you like to help shape the future of the Building Department in the field of BIM as an intern? Currently, we are creating the necessary foundations in the Building Department to support larger construction projects with the BIM method from 2028 onwards.

In this internship, you will work at the interface of construction, BIM, data, IT and organisation to ensure that BIM works not only on paper. If you are enthusiastic about both organisational and methodological topics in this introduction as well as digital tools, then you are exactly right with us.

Your tasks

• Co-develop BIM use cases (including CO2 tracking & ReUse) as well as prepare, organise and follow up workshops
• Organisationally and technically support BIM pilot projects and track their progress
• Develop foundations, standards, templates and design community formats (e.g. Lunch & Learn)
• Support data and document management in connection with CDE PIM and act as a superuser during the technical onboarding of pilot projects
• Build the PowerBI cockpit for BIM@HBA and collaborate on an AI test case in connection with the cantonal data platform

What you bring

• Completed studies in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, digital construction or a related field – motivated career changers with a suitable background are also welcome
• Initial knowledge of PowerBI, AI, programming or BIM tools
• Basic knowledge of specialised data catalogues, IDS and structured modelling of BIM data is an advantage
• Basic understanding of construction processes and SIA phases is an advantage
• Structured and independent working style
• Enjoyment of communication, collaboration and new topics

What to expect

You will work on a transformation project with real impact on the construction and planning industry. You will gain insight into real construction projects, public client processes as well as current topics around BIM, data management and digitalisation. You will collaborate with client representatives, portfolio managers, architects, engineers and can quickly build a valuable network as a young professional.
