Who are we?
The Fribourg Detention Centre (EDFR) brings together the penitentiary structures of the canton of Fribourg. It has the status of a public law entity and possesses legal personality. It is administratively attached to the Directorate of Security, Justice and Sport (DSJS), under the high supervision of the State Council. The Centre ensures the custody, accommodation, care and treatment of detainees entrusted to it and contributes to achieving the objectives assigned to the execution of custodial sentences and measures.

Your duties
- Provide medical care to detainees during their stay at the penitentiary
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary medical team
- Ensure high-quality care
- Distribute daily tasks as the person responsible for the day
- Advise and treat patients with substance dependence
- Prepare and distribute medication
- Support students
- Ensure on-call telephone service
Desired profile
- ASSC diploma, general nursing diploma at ES or HES level, or equivalent training (with Red Cross recognition) with several years of professional experience
- Experience in a penitentiary environment, or in specialised care – experience in caring for vulnerable populations is highly desirable
- Skills in acute and/or psychiatric care
- Good physical and mental condition, as well as flexibility and stress resistance
- Ability to work in a sometimes difficult environment
- Interpersonal skills, communication and conflict management
- Willingness to intervene outside working hours in cases of force majeure
- Good knowledge of IT tools (MS Office)
- Clean criminal record and debt enforcement extracts
- Fluency in French or German with good knowledge of the other language
