The Rental Department of the School Office of the City of Zurich is looking for a Group House Manager from 1 April 2027 or by arrangement
Tasks
- You manage the group house and take on the personnel leadership of the assistant group house management if required.
- You look after the guests and are responsible for preparing meals as well as purchasing foodstuffs.
- You carry out general caretaking, cleaning, and laundry duties.
- You maintain the surroundings and supervise building maintenance.
- In this versatile role, you ensure smooth administrative processes including timely invoice verification for the School Office and act as the communication interface with the City of Zurich Real Estate, local authorities, craftsmen, and guests on site.
Profile
- Completed vocational training EFZ, preferably as a cook.
- Further training at the professional examination level in the areas of hospitality, housekeeping, or facility management; leadership training is an advantage.
- Experience in gastronomy or housekeeping, especially in planning, purchasing, as well as hygiene and food safety.
- Driving licence category B.
- High social competence and resilience, strong organisational skills and manual dexterity, as well as enjoyment in working with pupils and teachers.

We offer you a varied, versatile, and independent activity in a breathtaking environment. A service flat (3.5 rooms) is available if interested. The position offers attractive working hours from Monday to Friday, usually during the day and at the latest until 8:00 pm. Weekend duties occur only exceptionally. If interested, the position can be combined with an additional function as assistant group house management (30 to 60%). However, taking on this additional function is not a requirement for the position.
About us
The School and Sports Department of the City of Zurich operates six group houses in various regions of Switzerland. The group house Chasa Plans in Lavin with 34 beds is located in the beautiful Engadin and is available to school classes for class camps from January to December.
