Medical Practice Assistant 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe. The JVA Pöschwies, with 399 places, is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfils a central state function and, according to legal mandate, is responsible for the resocialisation of incarcerated persons and the protection of the public.
The Medical Service main department ensures the medical-somatic basic care for incarcerated persons in all correctional institutions of the Canton of Zurich. As a central organisational unit, it guarantees harmonised and high-quality healthcare according to the equivalence principle and works closely with the Psychiatric-Psychological Service and the JuWe institutions.
Your tasks
- Organisation and assistance within the framework of consultations
- Conducting and preparing diagnostic clarifications (ECG, laboratory, lung function, X-ray, etc.)
- Taking on general administrative tasks
- Assistance with minor surgical procedures
- Care of chronically ill patients (e.g. wound care)
- Independent work during weekend duty (approx. once per month)
- Conducting systematic admission examinations
Your profile
- Training as a Medical Practice Assistant EFZ
- Committed personality with strong teamwork skills and resilience
- Competent and respectful interaction with patients and colleagues
- Minimum age 25 years
- IT affinity as well as good foreign language skills
- Impeccable reputation
- Ability to work shifts starting at 06:00 am
