About the job
The Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITP) at the University of Bern conducts research in the field of elementary particle physics and is involved in university teaching. The ITP employs around 60 staff members from Switzerland and abroad and is part of the Albert Einstein Center for Fundamental Physics (AEC), a strategic research center of the University of Bern.
To support us, we are looking for a team member for our administration starting May 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Tasks
- Accounts payable and receivable including monthly checks and expense reports
- Administration of third-party funding credits and participation in the institute's financial administration
- Administrative organization and support of courses
- Assistance in organizing scientific events and conferences, as well as visits from international guest scientists (AEC Visitor Program)
- Deputy personnel administration
- Maintenance of databases
- General administrative tasks
Requirements
- Commercial training or equivalent qualification
- Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
- Very good Office user skills
- Reliable, precise and independent working style as well as flexibility
