Your Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, creative, and highly organised Junior Communications & Events Coordinator to join our Engagement Department on a 100% maternity cover contract from 1 August 2026 to 4 September 2027.
Reporting to the Engagement Team Manager, this role plays an important part in strengthening community engagement through meaningful communication, memorable events, and strong alumni relations. You will help bring the ICS story to life by celebrating our heritage, promoting our present, and helping shape our future reputation.

Specific Responsibilities
What You Will Do
Communications
- Coordinate and project-manage a range of school publications from concept through to delivery
- Develop engaging content across print, web, and digital platforms
- Maintain high editorial standards, proofreading accuracy, and brand consistency
- Support photography and visual content planning, including coordination with external photographers
- Manage and optimise digital communication channels for different stakeholder audiences
- Support crisis communications planning alongside internal colleagues
Events
- Coordinate and deliver key school events that celebrate the culture and identity of ICS
- Source venues, obtain quotations, liaise with suppliers, and manage logistics
- Prepare supporting communications, invitations, and event materials
- Work collaboratively across departments to ensure successful delivery of events
Alumni Relations
- Build and strengthen engagement with alumni through outreach, events, and publications
- Maintain and develop alumni databases and communication channels
- Support long-term alumni engagement strategy and activation initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues to create impactful alumni communications and campaigns
Wider Contribution
- Support projects that enhance the experience of students, families, staff, alumni, and wider stakeholders
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the Engagement Department
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum two years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Minimum two years of experience in social media management and content creation
- Proven experience delivering marketing content across print, web, and digital platforms
- Strong copywriting skills with experience using social media, design, and video editing tools
- Demonstrated ability to identify target audiences and develop campaigns that engage, inform, and inspire across multiple channels
- Excellent written communication skills with strong grammatical accuracy and the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences
- Photography skills, including image selection and basic editing capabilities
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and solve problems proactively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both English and German
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Positive mindset, collaborative approach, and a genuine commitment to contributing to a strong team culture
