Job Description

As a Senior Java / Web Developer, you will support our team "web solutions" in fulfilling exciting customer requirements around the architecture and development of modern web portals and web applications.

Clients, project managers, designers, and developers work hand in hand with us. You will support the team in all project phases and actively contribute your expertise as a Java and web specialist. In addition to project work, you will work on the further development of our standards and actively monitor market trends.

What to expect

• You will design modern software architectures together with our clients
• You will independently or as part of a team implement demanding and technologically leading solutions based on Java and Liferay Digital Experience Platform
• Software development and implementation in the context of backend and service architectures in cooperation with our frontend developers
• Compliance with security standards during development is a matter of course for you
• You will take over existing customer projects in part and bring your gained experience into new projects
• You will assist in the development of technical solution architectures and create specifications and concepts.

What you should bring

• Computer scientist FH/HF or equivalent education
• At least 3 years of professional experience as a Java / Web Developer at the Professional / Senior level
• Outstanding knowledge in Java development and service-oriented software architectures
• Good knowledge in services (REST, GraphQL or similar), database systems like MySQL / MariaDB, and persistence frameworks like Hibernate
• Experience in the Java portal environment (e.g. Liferay Digital Experience Platform) and Elasticsearch is an advantage
• Knowledge in microservices, containerization, DevOps, and API management
• You impress with your open-source know-how
• Understanding and living agile methodologies (SCRUM)
• Solution and customer orientation with a high sense of responsibility and quality awareness
• Fluent German and English skills for communication with English-speaking developers
