Head of the Road Police
Canton Police | 80-100% | Chur
The Road Police make a fundamental contribution to road safety and the optimal flow of traffic. In this responsible managerial role, you will lead a diverse organizational sector with about 80 employees and actively participate in the further strategic development of the Road Police.
For a date to be agreed upon, we are looking for a flexible and committed person to serve as Head of the Road Police.
Responsibilities
- Management of the Road Police sector as a police officer/on-call officer
- Leadership of subordinate managers in terms of personnel and specialist and organizational aspects in special and specialist areas (Northern Road Police Center, Traffic Registration, Road Police Technical Service, Traffic Administration, Heavy Traffic with the control centers Unterrealta (Cazis) and Campagnola (San Vittore) and with the network of traffic expertise)
- Ensuring support from the road police and operational readiness in the assigned geographic area of responsibility
- Support to the Head of Territorial and Road Police and in the specialist transport sector
- Support, as sector head, to the Territorial Police in implementing road police tasks
- Close cooperation with the Public Prosecutor's Office as well as with other cantonal, inter-cantonal, and national authorities and organizations
- Further development of the organization in the areas of structure, processes, competencies, and professional development
What we expect from you
- Ideally a diploma as a lawyer or equivalent studies
- Ideally experience as a police officer or extensive specialist knowledge of road and judicial police
- A creative person, capable of interdisciplinary thinking, with strengths in strategic, conceptual, and communicative areas (clear and recipient-appropriate communication)
- A motivating and team-oriented leadership style, self-confidence, and assertiveness
- Focus on strategic and business management aspects
- Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High social skills, flexibility, and stress resistance
- Structured, goal-oriented, and efficient working method
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
