Tasks:

• decides and manages the individual therapeutic plan for the patient according to the diagnostic and pharmacotherapeutic framework, ensuring, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the correct implementation of patient care, as per the "Medical responsibility and delegation" protocol
• ensures and performs specialist medical-psychiatric examinations, where necessary in collaboration with psychologists, for patients guaranteeing the correct diagnostic, psychopharmacological and rehabilitative framework
• actively collaborates with doctors from psychiatric and somatic hospital facilities and with private practice doctors, in agreement with the chief psychiatrist of the OSC service. Regarding somatic care necessary for the patient’s well-being, organises and co-manages the planned somatic care
• ensures FMH training for assistant doctors and other public or publicly interested professional figures. Is required to update their professional knowledge in compliance with FMH provisions for maintaining the specialty title
• creates, in agreement with the chief psychiatrist of the OSC service, relations with other public and private structures operating in the territory to create ideal preconditions for network intervention
• ensures on-call duty in the territory and/or shifts at the Cantonal Psychiatric Clinic (CPC) as provided by the "OSC Medical On-call and Standby Regulations"
• prepares medical psychiatric expert reports assigned to them and supervised by the head of service
• guarantees the correct drafting of TARDOC and TARPSY services

Requirements:

• medical diploma (or equivalent qualification)
• FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy (or equivalent qualification)
• authorisation for independent practice in the Canton of Ticino issued by the Health Office
• medical-therapeutic work experience in socio-psychiatric teams
• aptitude for teamwork
• perfect command of the Italian language (conversation and writing), knowledge of English (conversation) and/or a second official language (conversation)
• knowledge of the territory and the socio-psychiatric care network of the Canton of Ticino

Special notes:

• employment rate: 40% - appointment under art. 15 and 16 LORD until 31 December 2027
• workplace: Chiasso within the framework of the liaison service agreement at EOC/Regional Hospital of Mendrisio-Beata Vergine and Regional Hospital of Lugano
• availability of the candidate to work irregular shifts
• start date: 01.10.2026 or date to be agreed

Employment conditions:

• appointment or assignment: as provided by the Law on the Organisation of State Employees and Teachers of 15 March 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organisation are explicitly reserved
• working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
