The Berufsfachschule Uster (BFSU) is an innovative educational institution with a broad range of vocational basic education and further training. We accompany young people and adults on their educational journey and are committed to future-oriented, high-quality vocational education.
To strengthen our school management, we are looking for a committed, strong leader with pedagogical expertise as Department Head from 1 March 2027 or by arrangement.

- Management of a specialist area: Leading the Department of Vocational Training Technology (Automation, Electronics, Platform Development). Ensuring the operational school business while adhering to quality management; acting flexibly.
- Strategic development: Supporting the overall school management and the school commission in the strategic orientation of the school.
- Accompanying change processes: Careful and goal-oriented implementation of changes involving teachers and staff.
- Development of teaching staff: Significant further development and individual support of the department as well as participation in personnel planning.
- Collaboration with other departments: Close cooperation, coordination and exchange support.
- Maintaining contacts: Close exchange with external bodies; promoting cooperation between learning locations.
- Teaching activity: Bringing enthusiasm for teaching and learning into the classroom. Teaching obligation: 10 weekly lessons.
- Completed degree or equivalent qualification
- Completed teaching diploma with additional training in vocational pedagogy for teaching at secondary level II
- Additional training in school management, educational management or a comparable qualification is an advantage
- Leadership and management experience in the education sector, ideally at a vocational school
- Sound knowledge of the Swiss vocational education system
- High social competence and communication skills
- Strategic thinking combined with implementation and decision-making ability
- Experience in school development and modern leadership
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written
- High degree of initiative and openness to change
- Technological affinity combined with digital competence and a strong willingness to learn
- A varied, challenging and exciting field of tasks
- Scope for design in a lively, versatile and innovative vocational school
