About The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student to join our lacquer coatings team as a Laboratory Intern. In this role, you’ll assist with the preparation, testing, and analysis of lacquer formulations while gaining hands-on experience with analytical instruments and lab techniques. It’s a great opportunity to apply your studies in chemistry or materials science in a practical, collaborative environment. This is a part time internship with a workload of around 20% based in our Kreuzlingen location.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Prepare, mix, and apply lacquer coatings according to engineer-provided formulations.
- Conduct quality control tests and analyses to ensure coatings meet required standards.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as FT-IR, DSC, optical microscopy, mechanical and barrier testing equipment.
- Support daily lab activities, including sample preparation, measurements, and basic data analysis.
- Follow safety and quality procedures to maintain a clean, safe lab environment.
- Document results and prepare simple technical reports in English.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and lab colleagues to support ongoing development projects.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Ongoing studies in chemistry, materials science, or a related scientific field.
- Basic understanding of laboratory methods and interest in analytical techniques.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with hands-on experimental work.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible, reliable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced lab environment.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
