Your main tasks

• Overall responsibility for the Security Division with the service groups Civil Protection (fire brigade and civil protection organisation) as well as City Police (including lake rescue)
• Strategic, personnel, professional, organisational and financial management of the division, the city police and the lake rescue, as well as ensuring the achievement of objectives according to the service mandate
• Further development of the security strategy and ensuring a contemporary, effective and population-oriented security organisation
• Deputising for the Head of the Security Department and assuming all associated tasks and interests of the department
• Advising and supporting the Head of Security, the City Council and other stakeholders on all security-related and police matters
• Initiating, leading and participating in strategic and operational projects in the security and police environment
• Member of the Uster Municipal Management Organisation (GFO) as deputy to the Chief of Staff

What you bring

• Completed university or university of applied sciences degree or equivalent education and training
• Professional examination as a police officer, training as a police officer or willingness to complete the CAS "Leadership in Police Operations (FIP)" promptly
• Several years of leadership experience and the ability to lead employees and organisational units in a value-oriented, goal-oriented manner with a clear stance
• Independent, analytical, solution-oriented and implementation-strong working style with a good sense of political and social contexts
• Winning, integral and assertive personality with natural authority as well as high social and communication skills
• You understand how to further develop people, organisations and security structures and to win different stakeholders for common solutions
