About us:
We support the organisational units of the University of Bern in financial planning, control and reporting. We create transparency about financial key figures and provide sound foundations for business decisions. For our Financial Controlling team, we are looking for reinforcement in the area of third-party funds. This particularly concerns external contributions for research projects (Swiss National Science Foundation, Innosuisse, EU Grants, international research funding), external income from contracts with third parties or income related to university fees. As of 1 January 2027, we will introduce SAP S4/Hana and thus further develop our controlling.
Tasks:
- Management, financial planning and controlling of third-party funded projects
- Ensuring compliance with the requirements in the area of third-party funds
- Proactive tracking of plan/actual deviations of third-party funded projects
- Preparation of periodic reports on third-party funded projects
- Support and training of institutes and faculties on evaluations and reports in SAP
- Central contact point for the decentralised units on controlling questions
- Support with other tasks in the controlling team
Requirements:
- Education at the level of a university of applied sciences or comparable business administration training
- Professional experience in controlling
- Sound understanding of accounting
- Good Excel skills and ability to structure and analyse large amounts of data
- Experience with SAP (especially modules FI and CO/PS)
