The Anaesthesiology Service is a cross-disciplinary service at the heart of the technical platform of the HUG. As the largest centre in Switzerland in terms of the number of interventional procedures performed annually, the Anaesthesiology Service is at the forefront of advances in this field. The service also provides pre- and post-graduate and continuing education for nurses and doctors in specialised training. As a service provider, anaesthesiology also intervenes in the field of interventional pain management and in life-threatening emergency situations both in-hospital and pre-hospital alongside the Emergency Service.
