- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis and corrective actions on Link 16 ground system, MIDS units and associated ICT equipment.
- Lead root-cause analysis for hardware, software, radio communication, networking, timing, interoperability and system performance issues
- Define corrective actions and coordinate technical solutions with suppliers, OEMs, subcontractors and internal engineering teams.
- Carry out system engineering activities related to operation, maintenance, upgrades, configuration management, obsolescence management and lifecycle support
- Integrate new or upgraded datalink components into ground platforms, test environments and command-and-control systems
- Maintain system configuration baselines, manage part-level and system-level obsolescence and support lifecycle upgrades to ensure continued operational availability and compliance with STANAG 5516 / MIL‑STD‑6016.
- Support firmware/software upgrades, hardware modifications, security patches, capability enhancements and integration activities
- Participate in occasional trips abroad for supplier meetings, joint test campaigns, technical coordination or specialised training
What you should bring with you
- Master's degree preferred in telecommunications, communications engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering
- Minimum bachelor's degree in one of the above fields, combined with 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Background in telecommunications, ideally including radio communication, data transmission, secure communications, networking, RF systems or tactical communication systems
- Experience in maintenance, system support, integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting or lifecycle management of complex technical systems
- Experience in ICT system administration on linux and/or windows systems.
- Interest in or knowledge of tactical datalinks, especially Link 16, MIDS, STANAG 5516, MIL-STD-6016, J-series messages, tactical networking, interoperability or secure military communications
- Experience in avionics, defense systems, aerospace systems, C2/C4I/C5I systems or mission-critical communication systems is an advantage
- Ability to analyse faults, isolate root causes, define corrective actions and document technical findings
- Structured, reliable, analytical and solution-oriented working style
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work in a regulated, security-sensitive environment
- Fluent German and English, both spoken and written; French is a plus
- Willingness to travel regularly within Switzerland and occasionally abroad
- Swiss citizenship is required, and the candidate must be eligible for a Swiss security clearance.
