The SBB are the backbone of the Swiss transport network. Within the Infrastructure Division, the Availability and Maintenance sector ensures the safe, reliable and sustainable operation of railway facilities. As a Career Starter, depending on your training and interests, you take on a technical or strategic and conceptual role as a project manager. Resource management, monitoring and maintenance of railway infrastructure as well as its continuous development are at the heart of your activity. You participate in technical projects, develop decision bases for decision-making bodies and apply your technical and/or management skills in a targeted manner. The 18-month programme starts on 1 April 2027. Thanks to a permanent contract, many paths are open to you at the end of the programme, whether it be an expert, project or management career path. What you can move forward.
- You contribute from the start to projects close to the field and actively engage in areas such as monitoring, maintenance or renewal of railway infrastructure.
- Depending on your interests, you focus either on technical topics or on strategic and conceptual tasks.
- You analyse infrastructure projects, identify improvement potentials and, if necessary, also gain insights directly on site.
- In collaboration with different areas and stakeholders, you develop a valuable network within the SBB.
- You are attached to the Availability and Maintenance sector and complete three six-month assignments which you define in collaboration with the programme team.
- Your development is paramount. You benefit from individual development measures and continuing education aligned with your goals.
What you bring.
- A good technical or management understanding and interest in complex, technical and economic issues.
- Interest in the railway system, especially in infrastructure, railway technology and control.
- Strong analytical skills to understand connections and identify improvement opportunities.
- A high degree of autonomy, conceptual thinking and the motivation to advance projects under your own responsibility.
- A completed degree from a university of applied sciences, a university or similar, for example in engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
- Excellent command of German, and ideally a good knowledge of the other national language.
