Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta’s hiring team is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator onsite in Kaisten, Switzerland.
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for managing and further developing the maintenance management system as well as coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Additionally, the role actively undertakes tasks in the area of reliability engineering – aiming to systematically increase plant reliability and implement programmes for mechanical integrity and plant safety at the site.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance Coordination
- Use, maintenance and further development of the maintenance management system within the SAP environment (PM module)
- Planning, coordination and support of maintenance activities during normal operation and shutdown phases
- Creation and development of maintenance plans in collaboration with technical staff and specialists
- Monitoring the implementation of the preventive maintenance programme to ensure plant availability and compliance with legal and Syngenta internal requirements
- Coordination and support in the deployment of external contractors and issuing orders to external specialist companies
- Management of the technical spare parts warehouse as well as procurement of technical materials and services
- Building and maintaining equipment and plant history
- Preparation of reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the maintenance programme
- Creating, drafting and updating work instructions and technical documentation
Reliability Engineering
- Support and lead initiatives for mechanical integrity of the plants
- Support and lead the implementation of global programmes, e.g. safety-critical equipment, criticality analysis and related FMECA analyses
- Further development of the reliability programme at the site, including condition monitoring programme and derived measures, evaluation of results from tests and inspections
- Support and maintenance of the Bad Actor programme: systematic recording and handling of repeatedly failure-prone plants and components
- Lead or participate in projects to increase reliability and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Completed vocational training in a technical field (e.g. polymechanic, plant or operations mechanic, electrical engineering or similar)
- Technical further education, e.g. technician HF, master craftsman or comparable – advantageous
- Very good SAP knowledge, especially in the PM module
- Basic knowledge of reliability engineering methods (FMECA, RCM, RCA, condition monitoring) advantageous
- Experience using SAP in maintenance
- Experience in maintenance of process engineering or chemical production plants
- Experience in planning and coordinating shutdown phases advantageous
- Knowledge in plant reliability and/or mechanical integrity advantageous
- Independent, structured and reliable working style
- Analytical thinking and ability to prioritise in a complex environment
- Teamwork skills and constructive collaboration with internal and external partners
- Strong communication skills and confident appearance towards service providers and project partners
- Very good German skills (native or equivalent); English skills advantageous
- Judgement: ability to make sound technical decisions within own responsibility
- Execution and result-oriented: consistent implementation of measures until completion
