About the job
What you will do here
- Handle current building physics and structural issues in the area of building envelopes including windows and doors.
- Apply classical building physics methods and building envelope constructions as well as contribute to the further development of the subject area through innovative approaches at the interface of construction and building physics.
- Support the acquisition of projects and services as well as conduct research projects with business partners, mandates and services.
- Contribute to the preparation of project proposals and project reports.
- Operate and maintain the laboratory infrastructure (plate measuring device, hot box, climate chamber, differential climate chamber, window test rig as well as mobile equipment for sound measurements).
What you ideally bring with you
- Completed studies at a university of applied sciences, university or technical university in the field of engineering, façade planning, façade technology, building physics or building envelope/façade.
- Sound knowledge of the fundamentals of building physics as well as the associated measurements, calculations and methods.
- Knowledge of façade and building envelope systems, the load-bearing behaviour of façades, fastening and connection technology, material behaviour and durability as well as manufacturing and assembly technology.
- Scientific curiosity, analytical thinking and the ability to recognise complex relationships.
- Independent, structured and goal-oriented working style, sense of responsibility as well as confident communication with research and industry partners and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
