We strengthen risk management at Zürcher Kantonalbank. Would you like to be part of an interdisciplinary team of risk management specialists shaping the independent risk control for operational resilience, Business Continuity Management (BCM), and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM)? We are looking for you to take a central role in the further development and implementation of our framework on these topics.
Your tasks
- Design and support as an expert the further development and operationalisation of the framework and risk management processes for operational resilience, BCM, and TPRM from the second line of defence in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the bank’s overall risk appetite.
- Monitor and assess the implementation of requirements by the first line of defence, for example through independent reviews and assessments, especially regarding operational resilience, BCM, and TPRM.
- Analyse and evaluate operational risks and vulnerabilities from the perspective of the second line of defence, particularly concerning critical resources (e.g. business processes, IT systems, suppliers), and ensure these risks are appropriately addressed and managed.
- Support the execution of monitoring and testing activities from the 2 LoD to assess the effectiveness of risk management processes in operational resilience, BCM, and TPRM and to enhance the effectiveness of the relevant control environment.
- Analyse incidents in operational resilience, BCM, and TPRM, conduct root cause analyses, and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into the further development of risk management processes.
- Contribute to the integration of relevant risk processes and measures for operational resilience, BCM, and TPRM into the operational risk management framework of ZKB.
- Work closely with the first line of defence, relevant specialist units such as BCM and TPRM, and corresponding functions like IT and central procurement to ensure effective risk monitoring.
- Support the preparation of reports regarding risks and the effectiveness of the control environment for operational resilience, BCM, and TPRM.
Your profile
- You have a completed degree (FH/University) in a relevant field such as business, finance, risk management, or related disciplines. Specific risk certifications are an advantage.
- You bring at least 6–8 years of relevant banking professional experience in operational risk management / Non-Financial Risk (NFR), ideally in a comparable expert role within a financial institution or consultancy in the second line of defence.
- You have proven experience in operational resilience, BCM, and TPRM, especially regarding regulatory requirements such as FINMA RS 2023/01, DORA, and BCBS. Additionally, you possess the ability to implement regulatory and legal requirements in practice.
- You have experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing control mechanisms to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
- You excel with strong conceptual and analytical skills as well as a proactive and initiative-taking personality, successfully translating theory into practice.
- You are characterised by an independent, responsible, and solution-oriented working style.
- You have very good German and English skills, both written and spoken, as well as strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
