Professional profile
In the course of study as a Nursing Specialist HF, with a focus on nursing and care of people with long-term illnesses, you will take on the competent and professional care and support of residents at the St. Urban retirement home. You will work in various living groups, e.g. with people with dementia or in the nursing living group. You will carry out nursing and medical procedures, assume specialist and leadership responsibilities in shift work, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. You provide security and respond competently and solution-oriented even in complex and difficult situations. Maintaining nursing documentation and participating in the nursing process, as well as implementing measures, are also part of your responsibilities. You also contribute to prevention and quality assurance.
Training
- Duration 3 years, shortened form 2 years
- During the training, students of Nursing HF are employed at the St. Urban retirement home and are in a training relationship with ZAG Winterthur or Careum Zurich.
- The training takes place 50% at ZAG and 50% in practical training at the St. Urban retirement home. Alternating half-yearly at school, half-yearly in practice.
- Start is in March and September each year
