Company Description
Liechtenstein is strengthening its security policy capabilities. To implement the Security Policy Strategy Liechtenstein adopted by the government, a new Security Policy Staff Unit is being established at the Ministry for the Presidency and Finance.
For the establishment and leadership of this central function, we are seeking a strategically minded, networked personality. In this key role, you will analyse security policy developments, prepare decision-making bases for the government, and coordinate cross-departmental initiatives with national and international partners.
Job Description
You feel at home in the following areas of activity:
- Establishment and strategic further development of the staff unit
- Monitoring security policy developments and creating situation reports
- Analysis and development of security policy options
- Strategic advice and preparation of decision-making bases for political leadership, including crisis management
- Handling cross-cutting security policy issues
- Leadership and coordination of cross-departmental projects and working groups
- Building and maintaining national and international networks
- Representing the country in national and international committees
- Personnel, professional, financial and organisational management of the staff unit
Qualifications
You are particularly characterised by the following for this position:
- University degree (Master’s or equivalent qualification) in political science, law, security policy, international relations, economics or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in security policy matters, strategic planning and crisis management
- Experience in establishing and/or operating staff structures, ideally at a strategic-political level
- Sound knowledge of national and international security architecture as well as current security policy developments
- Experience in leading complex projects and working with diverse political and administrative stakeholders
- Well networked within the country or able to quickly connect with various actors
- Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic skills
- High resilience and confident action in demanding and dynamic situations
- Very good oral and written communication skills in German and English
