The Department of Primary Education is responsible for the primary education sector of the Canton of Zurich. As Head of Finance Staff, you will take on a key role in the financial management of the Department of Primary Education.
Your Area of Responsibility
You are responsible for the finances of the Department of Primary Education, from budgeting and four-year planning (KEF) to the annual financial statement and controlling. This includes the allocation of state contributions, especially in the area of special and hospital education. You advise the department management on financial matters, monitor and optimise finance-related processes, and maintain communication with other departments within the Directorate of Education and the cantonal administration. Together with your team, you are the central contact point for all financial questions, both internally and for our partners in the education sector. In doing so, you combine practical relevance and service orientation with correct and responsible conduct. As a member of the management team, you represent the Department of Primary Education and the Directorate of Education in working groups and projects.
Your Profile
You have a university or university of applied sciences degree as well as several years of leadership experience. In addition to very good financial knowledge, you have a flair for legal issues and are familiar with public administration. You are experienced and confident in dealing with various stakeholders. Analytical thinking, structured and cooperative working methods, as well as clear, confident and binding communication characterise you, as does a humorous, straightforward nature that ensures you the acceptance of all parties involved. Your cooperative leadership style provides orientation and promotes the personal responsibility of your employees. You are open to new developments and actively shape change.
