Your new role
Your main tasks in this position are to independently manage child and adult protection procedures in collaboration with the specialist service and to make decisions in child and adult protection. In addition, you supervise ongoing child and adult protection measures and advise guardians.
This position is suitable for you if
- You have a completed degree in pedagogy, psychology, or social work.
- You have knowledge in child and adult protection and possibly in personal, family, inheritance, and administrative law.
- You have relevant professional experience at a KESB, a youth advocacy office, or a professional guardianship.
- You appreciate collaboration with authority members and the staff of the specialist service in an interdisciplinary team.
- You can count an independent and precise way of working as well as good self-organization among your strengths.
- You are characterized by high social competence, are very resilient and flexible, and feel mentally prepared for the demanding field of activity.
- You want to contribute your conceptual and analytical skills.
- You find oral and written communication at a high level easy and can confidently present yourself to your stakeholders.
- You are conscientious, reliable, trustworthy, and open.
Your new employer
The Child and Adult Protection Authority is responsible for protecting persons who are not independently able to obtain the necessary support for themselves. For example, if they are still minors, mentally disabled, psychologically impaired, or severely addicted.
The KESB Region St.Gallen implements child and adult protection law according to the legal provisions in the Swiss Civil Code as well as the supplementary cantonal regulations. It is responsible for all first-instance decisions in this legal area. The KESB Region St.Gallen is responsible for the municipalities of Eggersriet, Häggenschwil, Muolen, St.Gallen, and Wittenbach.
