Programme Officer - Humanitarian Division

A key role at the interface between the Foundation and humanitarian institutions of international Geneva

Your responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary General in charge of the Humanitarian Division, you assist in deploying the division’s strategic directions and become its primary liaison with beneficiaries. You ensure the compliance of support requests received, up to the processing of files carried out by the managers. In this capacity, you develop and maintain trusting relationships with supported organisations, whose contacts are mainly general management and philanthropic officers. You analyse their activity reports and annual accounts, draft summary notes, and share useful information with the managers. You also conduct active monitoring of the actors and issues of the institutions of international Geneva. The position is based in Geneva and does not include travel abroad.

Your profile

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, or an equivalent qualification, you have at least 5 years’ experience within one or more NGOs of international Geneva, ideally in development or project management. Thanks to your solid understanding of the issues of international Geneva, the realities of field actors, as well as your good financial knowledge, you are able to analyse an activity report or annual accounts. Comfortable with interlocutors at all levels, including general management, with whom you develop trusting relationships, you stand out for your writing skills and your taste for analytical research. Rigorous, autonomous, and endowed with a good sense of synthesis, you know how to demonstrate discretion, kindness, and empathy. You have perfect command of French, both spoken and written, and possess a very good level of English.
