About the position

As Product & Category Manager Food, you are responsible for the further development of the range from supplier selection and product idea to implementation and quality assurance in the branches. The three central areas of the role are supplier negotiations, product development and on-site implementation.

Your tasks

• Supplier management & negotiations: You work with existing internal and external suppliers, compare offers, conduct negotiations and prepare decision-making bases for new suppliers and conditions. Academic Work
• Product & range development: You develop new product concepts and improve existing products considering quality, costs and feasibility.
• Branch implementation & quality: You accompany the introduction of products in the branches, check practical implementation and ensure compliance with quality and hygiene standards together with the teams.
• Analysis & profitability: You analyse sales, product profitability and market potentials and support calculations as well as tenders.
• Processes & documentation: You document product and process information, maintain relevant master and system data and ensure that defined procedures are implemented transparently.

Requirements

• Professional experience in product management, category management or purchasing, ideally in the food or retail sector
• Practical experience in kitchen, bakery, food production or comparable food-related processes
• Experience in dealing with suppliers and negotiations
• Structured and independent working style
• Willingness to regularly work on-site in the branches

Nice to have

• Basic or further education in business administration
• Experience with tenders
• Experience in developing or further developing recipe-based products
• Understanding of branch-based retail
• Experience with ERP or merchandise management systems
