About the job
Psychology Intern in Educational Counselling 60%The Office for Youth and Career Counselling of the Education Directorate provides, commissions, manages and coordinates services for child and youth welfare and career counselling. The kjz Winterthur, as one of a total of 15 child and youth welfare centres in the canton of Zurich, ensures a uniform, regionally and municipally well-founded service provision in the areas of youth and family counselling, educational counselling, mother and father counselling, as well as child protection.
The kjz Winterthur offers psychology students (Bachelor or Master) at a Swiss university of applied sciences or university a six-month internship starting from 1 February 2027.
As part of the internship, you will gain insight into the following activities:
- Participation in family discussions with various psychologists in process-oriented, systemically oriented educational counselling commissioned by the parents
- Co-counselling as well as independent counselling and support of parents, families and caregivers with children and adolescents up to 18 years old on a voluntary basis
- Case-related administrative tasks (file notes and case-related correspondence)
- Insight into the work of child protection assessments commissioned by the KESB through case discussions with the assessors
You will have the opportunity to get to know the diverse range of educational counselling at kjz Winterthur and will be systematically introduced to our tasks. You can expect a lively, varied activity in an institution where interdisciplinary and networked collaboration takes place with other areas of the overall institution.
