The EOC, the multi-site hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The organization allows for an effective combination of local approach and overall vision, ensuring the population a global and proximity hospital offer, regardless of where the services are required.
Thanks to the commitment and expertise of over 6,500 collaborators and their attention to human relationships, the EOC ensures quality healthcare by taking care of over 41,000 inpatients per year and providing over 600,000 outpatient consultations.
The surgical services of the hospitals in Lugano, Mendrisio, Locarno, and Bellinzona collaborate in the clinical training of assistant doctors in training and consequently in the recruitment of new candidates.
The following position is aimed at candidates who wish to submit a spontaneous application as
Assistant Doctor in Surgery
at the regional hospitals of Lugano, Mendrisio, Locarno, Bellinzona.
Profile
The person we are looking for must possess motivation, initiative, and a spirit of collaboration. They believe, like us, in the importance of putting the patient and their family at the center of all our attention.
Necessary requirements
- Degree in human medicine (for foreign qualifications, recognition of the degree by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions Mebeko is required before the start of the activity);
- Registration in the medical professions register MedReg;
- Knowledge of the Italian language, according to the LPMed provisions in force since January 1, 2018;
- Knowledge of a second Swiss national language (German or French, preferably at B2 level).
- Knowledge of the functioning and requirements of the Swiss training path (Surgery | SIWF).

In case of hiring and possible inclusion in a training path (Surgical Training Network - Cantonal Hospital Entity (eoc.ch), rotations between various locations, in departments, specialized surgical rotations (vascular, plastic, urology), Emergency, Intensive Care will be planned.
