The position is attached to the gynecology and obstetrics services of the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents.
The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents is dedicated to providing quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to 16 years of age.
For many years, the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents has continuously developed cutting-edge services and centers of expertise in several medical specialties.
The gynecology service at HUG is one of the largest in Switzerland.
The service includes many specialties, notably in oncology, perinology, and reproductive medicine . The service also provides specialized consultations related to the ovary and female genital mutilation . It cares for women who are victims of assault and violence , or who request a gynecological check-up , contraception , or a pregnancy termination .
Our breast center and our endometriosis center are accredited, guaranteeing multidisciplinary, comprehensive, and quality care.
The medical and nursing teams follow women, girls, and adolescents throughout their reproductive lives, during and after menopause , with maximum comfort and safety, respecting each individual's privacy and values.
To ensure the best women's health care, it relies on efficient emergency services , state-of-the-art equipment, an interdisciplinary care approach , and direct access for hospitalizations.
In addition to monitoring and managing pregnancies until delivery, the obstetrics service is the regional reference center for high-risk pregnancies and fetomaternal medicine. The Maternity collaborates closely with the neonatology unit where about 500 newborns are hospitalized each year, with teams working around the clock to provide care and close monitoring.
Job Description
Our gynecology and obstetrics services are looking for several resident physicians eager to develop in a stimulating university environment, within a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the training of medical interns.
As part of the various rotations, you will work within the different units of the obstetrics service as well as in the gynecological outpatient clinic and gyneco-obstetrical emergency unit.
In your role, you ensure the quality of medical services in the care units within your area of expertise.
Your organizational skills and ability to work efficiently allow you to ensure the application of internal rules and procedures.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or an equivalent title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO).
You have two years of experience in gynecology and obstetrics services.
For non-French speakers, a certified C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
