Set course for a journey of discovery and navigate Lake Lucerne with us as a ship captain in summer, while working as an electrical installer in winter.
The Lake Lucerne Navigation Company (SGV) Ltd is a subsidiary of SGV Holding Ltd. Its origins date back to 1836. SGV Ltd operates as a licensed, private transport company with a fleet of five historic paddle steamers and 15 motor vessels, transporting nearly 3 million passengers annually on Lake Lucerne.
Your area of responsibility
You will enjoy an extremely varied working environment and be directly at the heart of the action with our customers on the front line. You will competently advise our passengers regarding timetables and exciting excursion opportunities. You will sell tickets and check travel documents. As a future ship captain, you will keep our vessels on course. You can fully express your strong service orientation in all its facets and competently fulfil your role as host on board. The attractive working environment is rounded off by the care and maintenance of the assigned ships.
In winter, you will work at Shiptec Ltd as an electrical installer. You will be responsible for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair on ships, stations, and shipyard infrastructure. Furthermore, you will take on an important interface role between departments, internal and external customers, and suppliers.
Profile
- Completed basic training as an electrical installer EFZ
- Professional experience as an electrical installer EFZ
- High service commitment and strong sense of responsibility
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as oral skills in English and French, additional languages an advantage
- A high level of communication and conflict resolution skills, flexibility and resilience
- Willingness to work irregular hours and on-call duty, including weekends, with additional hours in summer and compensation in winter
- Minimum height of 1.70m
- Ideally between 20 and 35 years old
- Good physical condition, good swimming skills
- Driving licence category B
