The Appenzell Ausserrhoden Hospital Network, with the Herisau Acute Hospital and the AR Psychiatric Centre in Herisau, ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.

We are looking for

In the ICT department, under the leadership of our CEO, we are seeking immediately or by arrangement a Head of Medical Informatics & ICT Governance 80 - 100% (m/f/d).

Your tasks

• Leadership and further development of medical informatics as well as the ICT governance structures of the hospital organisation on behalf of the executive management together with the ICT operations management medical informatics
• Development, control and implementation of the digitalisation, medical informatics and ICT strategy as an integral part of the hospital's overall strategy
• Strategic leadership of the organisation including disciplinary responsibility for team leaders and operational responsibility for ICT
• Overall responsibility for the hospital applications and medical informatics area with a focus on organisation, control, prioritisation and impact
• Design and implementation of security governance, service architecture, data protection and information security management system for the hospital landscape using the cybersecurity technologies of the infrastructure partner
• Strategic advice to the executive management and medical leadership, representation of medical informatics & ICT governance towards the board of directors, partners and external committees as well as management of suppliers and partners

Your profile

• Leadership experience in a strategic leadership role at the interface of digitalisation, medical informatics and ICT, ideally in a hospital or healthcare environment
• Proven experience in the development and implementation of digitalisation, application and ICT strategies at the enterprise level
• Very good understanding of clinical and administrative application landscapes, enterprise architectures, governance structures as well as security, data protection and information security requirements
• Strategically thinking, implementation-strong leadership personality with pronounced communication, consulting and decision-making skills
• High ability to connect medical, operational and technological stakeholders and jointly design effective, sustainable solutions
