Location: Flexible! Zurich area / German-speaking Switzerland (Hybrid with travel time = working time), fixed location in Zurich OR relocation to Bellinzona (TI) Employment type: Permanent, 100%

About our client

For an internationally successful, renowned large corporation in the engineering and construction sector, we are seeking an experienced leader for the infrastructure and road construction division. The company offers enormous stability, market prestige, and stands for future-oriented engineering solutions. For this absolutely key position, we are looking for a senior professional who leads technically, sets strong sales accents, and further develops a committed, young team.

Your tasks

• Project management & road construction: Strategic and operational responsibility for demanding large-scale infrastructure projects - with a clear focus on road and motorway construction (including tunnel construction) in the German-speaking region.

• Acquisition & tendering: You take an active role in sales! You lead the preparation of complex tenders and drive acquisition forward - especially in close cooperation with the Federal Roads Office (ASTRA).

• Leadership & mentoring: Technical and personnel leadership of an interdisciplinary team of approximately 20-30 employees. You act as a mentor and role model for many younger engineers and draftsmen and bring real added value to the team through your seniority.

• Project controlling & client management: Direct responsibility for the technical and financial aspects of the projects as well as intensive maintenance and expansion of the network on the client side.

Your profile

• Education: Successfully completed degree as a civil engineer FH/ETH (or comparable qualification).

• Professional experience (mandatory): At least 6-10 years of solid experience in road construction in Switzerland. You must have reference projects from the Swiss market; experience with ASTRA projects is a major advantage!

• Sales & leadership skills: You are not a mere "administrator" but have a pronounced entrepreneurial mindset, enjoy acquisition, and have proven experience in team leadership.

• Language skills: Business fluent German (level C1/C2) is an absolute must for projects in German-speaking Switzerland, combined with Italian (C1) OR English (C1).

  • Option A: You live in the Zurich area and work 2 days per week in Bellinzona: The approx. 1.5-hour train journey from Zurich to Ticino counts fully as working time!

  • Option B: A fixed location in Zurich can be agreed upon by arrangement.

  • Option C: You fancy the sunny side of Switzerland and permanently relocate your workplace/residence to Ticino.
