Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in Sterilisation
The sterilisation centre of the CHUV is looking for a medical device reprocessing technician with a workload between 80% - 100% (permanent contract). The starting date is scheduled for 1 October 2026, or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching and research units can fully focus on their core activities by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilisation, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The sterilisation centre is attached to the CHUV Hospital Logistics. Its main mission is to provide sterile and functional products to all user services of the CHUV, affiliated institutions and external clients. Certified ISO 13485, it is a reference in the field of medical device reprocessing for other services and for external sterilisation. In this context, it provides training and information to the various healthcare professionals concerned.
Mission
- You master the medical device reprocessing process in accordance with client needs and respecting quality and institutional guidelines
- You ensure the proper functioning of equipment in the relevant activity and report any malfunctions observed
- You carry out cleaning, maintenance and self-checks of the equipment provided
- You train permanent and temporary staff responsible for the activity
- You comply with current procedures and participate in their updating
- You are willing to work variable hours, mornings, evenings (from 1pm to 10pm), weekends and public holidays, on-call duty.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a Medical Device Technologist or a Sterilisation Technician Assistant Level 1 (STE1) diploma
- You have at least one year’s experience in the paramedical or hospital field, or experience deemed useful for the role
- You enjoy working with technical equipment and demonstrate manual dexterity
- You appreciate teamwork, are precise, meticulous, methodical, adaptable and have a strong sense of responsibility
- You have good knowledge of the French language, level B2 required
- You are proficient with common office software and production software
- You are ready to work in a challenging environment (noise, heavy lifting, confined spaces).
