About the job
The central schools (MPS) of the Schwyz district are a modern, regionally anchored educational institution of lower secondary education.
The MPS Oberarth is one of seven central schools in the Schwyz district. Currently, 55 teachers work together with about 360 students in 23 classes. We teach the students in the cooperative school system in the school buildings Allmig, Bifang, and Stegweidli.
As of August 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for a committed personality as a school social worker 60% for the MPS Oberarth location.
Your main tasks
- Advice and support for students with personal, social, and school-related challenges
- Support for parents and guardians in educational and school matters
- Consultation for teachers in dealing with difficult situations in everyday school life
- Intervention in crises, conflicts, and acute problem situations
- Implementation and development of prevention projects (e.g., bullying, violence, addiction, media)
- Promotion of a positive school climate and the social skills of young people
- Collaboration with school management, teachers, and external specialist agencies
- Participation in projects also outside office and teaching hours (parent evenings, projects, events)
Your profile
- Completed training in social work (FH/HF) with additional training in school social work or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school context
- Sound knowledge in counseling, crisis intervention, and prevention work
- Strong social skills, empathy, and ability to build relationships
- High degree of independence as well as structured and reflective working style
- Conflict resolution skills, assertiveness, and resilience
- Intercultural competence and systemic thinking ability
