Head of Communication Department 80 - 100%The juvenile criminal justice system of the Canton of Zurich, with its approximately 120 employees, investigates and assesses crimes committed by young people between the ages of ten and eighteen. It also provides other services within the scope of its official duties. The five regional juvenile prosecution offices conduct criminal investigations and are responsible for the enforcement of juvenile criminal law protective measures and penalties. The office bears overall responsibility for the planning, management, and control of juvenile criminal justice, provides services for the juvenile prosecution offices, and acts as their supervisory authority.
As of May 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for a communicative, straightforward, and socially and politically interested Head of Communication Department (80 - 100%).
These tasks await you:
- You are responsible for the continuous development and implementation of the communication strategy of the juvenile criminal justice system.
- You ensure the internal and external communication of the juvenile criminal justice system (website, press releases, internal newsletter, etc.).
- As a media spokesperson, you are the contact person for media professionals and maintain proactive media relations.
- You organize and design media events and conferences.
- You accompany and coach our employees in public appearances.
- You prepare lectures, presentations, informational brochures, and reports.
- Build and further develop digital channels (website, social media, newsletter).
This is what distinguishes you:
- You have a master's degree in criminology, sociology, or a related field and several years of professional experience in media and public relations and/or journalism.
- You bring proven analytical skills and experience in project work.
- You know how to convey complex issues simply both orally and in writing and are skilled in dealing with political and media stakeholders.
- You are characterized by your high service orientation, resilience, and self-motivation.
