Clinical Nurse Specialist - Critical Care (80-100%)
Profile:
The person we are looking for is a nursing professional with solid experience in at least one area of Critical Care (Emergency Department, Anaesthesia, Intensive Care), oriented towards clinical excellence, patient safety and the development of professional skills. They possess good interpersonal and communication skills, an aptitude for interdisciplinary collaboration and the ability to exercise authoritative and constructive clinical leadership. They know how to combine autonomy, a sense of responsibility and organisational flexibility, keeping the patient and quality of care at the centre of their activity.
The position:
The role is placed within Critical Care and combines clinical development activities with direct patient care. They work closely with Department Heads, Deputy Department Heads and clinical specialists in Critical Care, as well as with the Quality Service and the Medical Directorate.
The selected person will become part of the hospital's clinical development team, reporting to the Head of the Nursing Service and the Clinical Specialist II. Maintaining clinical activity at the patient’s bedside in one of the three Critical Care specialties is a fundamental element of the role, favouring integration between clinical practice, professional development and continuous improvement.
Main responsibilities:
- Support and promote advanced clinical practice in Critical Care.
- Actively collaborate with Critical Care service teams to improve care processes.
- Promote quality of care, patient safety and the application of evidence-based best practices.
- Support the development and consolidation of nursing team skills through guidance, consultation and clinical training.
- Encourage integration and interdisciplinary collaboration among the various Critical Care services.
- Participate in cross-cutting projects and improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Nursing Directorate.
Required qualifications:
- Swiss-recognised nursing diploma.
- Post-diploma SSS in anaesthesia care, intensive care or emergency care.
- At least 3 years of nursing experience within Critical Care.
- Master of Science (MSc) in Nursing obtained or willingness to undertake the training path.
- Excellent knowledge of Italian; knowledge of another national language and English is a plus.
- Good skills in using IT tools and clinical databases.
- Clinical leadership and ability to support, guide and motivate professionals.
- Organisational flexibility, sense of responsibility and ability to adapt to service needs.
- Aptitude for multidisciplinary collaboration and teamwork.
- Analytical skills, initiative and orientation towards continuous improvement of care quality.
- Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
