As Senior Manager Materials Management (m/f/d), you are responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the areas of Materials Management, Production Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics at the Schaffhausen site. Together with the team, you ensure excellent material supply, high delivery capability, and efficient supply chain processes. At the same time, you shape the further development of the organisation, promote modern working methods, and utilise new technologies to sustainably position the supply chain for the future.
A typical working day in this role includes:
Leading, coaching, and developing a team of managers and supply chain experts.
Overall responsibility for forecasting, demand planning, production planning, inventory management, and material availability.
Managing purchasing and procurement activities as well as developing strategic supplier relationships at national and international levels.
Ensuring an efficient and high-performing supply chain through continuous optimisation of processes, inventory levels, and service levels.
Leading initiatives in digitalisation, automation, and continuous improvement as well as promoting data-driven decision-making processes.
Responsibility for budget planning, cost control, and compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety-related requirements.
WHAT YOU BRING TO ALCON:
A completed degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or a comparable field.
Several years of leadership experience in supply chain management, materials management, production planning, purchasing, or logistics.
Solid experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in medical technology.
Experience in process optimisation as well as successful implementation of change and transformation initiatives.
Very good knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP.
Strong analytical skills and a high degree of initiative.
Fluent German and English language skills.
