Teacher and Consultant for the Plant Production Sector
Plantahof | 80-100% | Landquart
The Plantahof is a service of the Department of Public Economy and Social Affairs and is the competence center for agricultural training and consulting in the Canton of Graubünden. In addition to the basic vocational school in agriculture, the Plantahof offers various continuing education cycles, professional development courses, and conferences and is responsible for comprehensive consulting and the transfer of specialized knowledge in favor of Graubünden and Glarus agricultural and alpine farms and other circles dealing with agricultural issues. For these purposes, it also manages its own agricultural and experimental farm at four different locations along with two farm shops. It also has a conference center with a dormitory, auditorium, and cafeteria.
To strengthen the training sector, we are looking for a consultant and teacher for the plant production sector starting January 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Responsibilities
- Specific teaching in basic training and advanced training cycles
- Specialist consulting in field crop cultivation, soil, and general plant production
- Co-development of the professional direction in field crop cultivation/organic plant production within the framework of the revision of basic agricultural training; editorial work for new teaching materials; organization of professional development courses in the field of field crop cultivation, soil, and general plant production
- Collaboration on plant production projects
- Networking with cantonal and national bodies and commissions for forage production
What we expect from you
- Degree (bachelor or master) in agronomy or equivalent training, preferably with a focus on plant sciences and ecology
- Additional qualification as a teacher and consultant (additional studies in training and consulting) is an advantage
- You are a team player, reliable, open, and willing to take responsibility
- The working language is generally German. Knowledge of another cantonal language is an advantage
