About the job
In this role, you accompany our patients during meals and support them in eating and drinking safely and as independently as possible. With your attention and empathy, you contribute significantly to their well-being in everyday life.
Your tasks
- Accompaniment during meals: You support our patients in safe and dignified food intake and promote their independence in eating and drinking
- Professional support with FOTT: You apply the principles of Facio-Oral Tract Therapy (FOTT) and especially accompany people with swallowing disorders or neurological impairments
- Attention and safety: You observe eating and swallowing behavior attentively and respond sensitively to possible difficulties to ensure safe food intake
- Team collaboration: You work closely with speech therapy and contribute your observations to the treatment process
- Creating a pleasant eating situation: You ensure a calm, supportive atmosphere during meals and pay attention to a suitable seating position as well as individual diet forms
Your profile
- Qualification: You have completed a FOTT course (Facio-Oral Tract Therapy) or are willing to complete it
- Experience: Ideally, you have experience dealing with patients in the health or care sector
- Personality: You are an empathetic, patient, and responsible person who enjoys supporting people in everyday life
- Working style: You work attentively, reliably, and appreciate collaboration in an interprofessional team
- Motivation: You want to contribute with your commitment to ensuring that our patients can take their meals safely, pleasantly, and as independently as possible
- Openness: Returnees or people with experience in care, nursing, and gastronomy are also warmly welcome
Work assignments
- The assignments mainly take place during meals (breakfast and dinner)
- Typical assignment times are between 07:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00
- Assignments are planned in advance and depend on your agreed workload
