The position is limited to 12 months.
At the Historical Institute of the University of Bern, we research and teach history in its full thematic breadth and methodological diversity. The research deals with the history of Europe from antiquity to the present as well as with the historical past of non-European regions.
Tasks
- Preparation of a research proposal for the Swiss National Science Foundation or another research institution
- Conducting a course for bachelor students in the spring or fall semester 2026
Requirements
- Completed doctorate in history, which is no more than three years old at the start of the position
- Independent and structured way of working
- Initiative in research and teaching
- Regular presence in Bern and participation in institute life
