Laboratory Technician for Biology 80%

The Kantonsschule Stadelhofen is a cantonal high school with classical and modern languages, mathematical-scientific, and musical profiles.

In 2026, our school will be expanded with a branch in Dübendorf. At full capacity, it will accommodate 650 students and will include, besides the short gymnasium, a commercial middle school and a lower gymnasium. In summer 2027, another building in Dübendorf will be opened – also for 650 students.

For the setup phase and the subsequent operation of our new biology laboratory at the Dübendorf location, we are looking for a committed, independently working personality as a Biology Laboratory Technician 80% starting immediately or by arrangement.

The weekly working hours will be distributed over four to five working days and depend on the respective schedules. Overtime and holidays can be taken during school vacations.

Your tasks

• Setup and maintenance of the biology collection and the laboratory at the Dübendorf location, including proper storage and disposal of chemical and biological components.
• Preparation and provision of teaching materials and experiments for the teachers. Assistance in lessons if needed.
• In consultation with the teacher: purchasing, inventory, and accounting of the biology department.
• Further development and documentation of experiments.
• Assistance in the procurement and setup of the subject-specific infrastructure before school opening.

Your profile

• Flexible, team-oriented personality with completed vocational training as a biology laboratory technician or a similar qualification and several years of experience in a similar role.
• Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as good IT skills in the MS Office area.
• You work independently, service-oriented, and extremely reliably.
• You possess excellent organizational skills and a careful working style.
• You see your task as a service for all school members, maintain open, respectful communication, and have good access to young people.
