Company Description
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a reference institution at both national and international levels. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to view our 2024 retrospective by clicking here .
With nearly 1,200 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (DMA) includes the anaesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, intensive care, and emergency services. It fulfils a fourfold mission through its services, which provide their expertise in frequent interaction with the entire Geneva University Hospitals, thanks to a transversal platform, with the aim of ensuring the best possible patient care.
The clinical pharmacology and toxicology service guarantees and promotes, through clinical practice and the training of health professionals, the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of drug therapy. Personalising prescriptions is a key focus of the service, particularly for vulnerable patients (children, elderly people, psychiatric patients). The service is the regional reference centre for pharmacovigilance. It also provides recognised multidisciplinary care in the field of pain management. In all these areas, the service offers excellent teaching and research.
Job Description
Your role alternates between the various clinical pharmacology and toxicology consultations, namely the therapeutic and toxicological information centre consultation, the pharmacogenomics and personalised therapies consultation, and the gerontopharmacology and/or psychopharmacology consultation.
The primary objective is to improve the management of complex drug treatments in at-risk patients and to personalise treatments (polypharmacy, drug interactions, adaptation to renal or hepatic function, adherence). You also participate in the various activities of the service.
You will work as a consultant for hospitalised patients as well as in outpatient clinical pharmacology and toxicology.
Qualifications
You hold the Swiss federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission (MEBEKO).
Clinical experience is an asset for joining our clinical pharmacology and toxicology positions, particularly in the field of general internal medicine or a medical specialty.
For non-French speakers, a European C1 level in French is mandatory.
Your excellent communication skills enable you to interact within a multidisciplinary team and with patients. You are autonomous, flexible, and demonstrate commitment.
Additional Information
We offer you the opportunity to join the Department of Acute Medicine at an exciting time of implementing numerous and varied projects.
Furthermore, you will participate in a noble and socially important mission as well as in exciting and innovative activities, within an academic environment and a highly qualified multidisciplinary team.
